If you’re anything like us, you’re majorly geeking out right now in anticipation of Series 4 of Game of Thrones out next week.
There are so many things to love about the show, from dragons and ice zombies, to razor sharp dialogue and of course a plot with more twists than a bumper sized sack of fusilli pasta (you know, the twisty one).
But it’s the female characters that make it in our opinion. This is not the kind of show where the women just crop up as the love interest. Oh no. These are all incredible characters in their own right and there are too many to even feature in a single blog post. Whoever does the costumes has done an amazing job in dressing these women to befit their roles. So without further ado, let’s take a look at our style homage to the women of Game of Thrones.
Danaenerys Stormborn… Khaleesi… Mother of Dragons… Daenerys is so much of a fan favourite that she’s even inspired a generation of Thrones-loving new mothers to name their baby girls after her. Not to mention a million Pinterest hair braid tutorials. Her style is a mix of Dothraki horse lord leather chic and opulent gifts she has acquired throughout her journey on the other side of the narrow sea. She is beautiful, but deadly, especially in possession of her three dragons. Dracarys!
Hey guys, my names Gemma and I run a blog over at www.gemsies.blogspot.com! Last week was my first ever experience of LFW and I initially was nervous as it can be all professional and crazy. The idea of running in between shows and looking glamorous 24/7 was slightly daunting. However, my experience was the complete opposite! It was full of colourful clothing, amazing vibes, everybody expressing themselves through their clothes and it was actually a rather comfortable atmosphere.
How was your January? Hope you’ve had a good start to the year and are looking forward to things ahead. We certainly are and here at Simply Be we’ve got some very exciting plans in the pipeline so keep your eyes and ears peeled!
But first things first, let’s look back and see what the month of January brought us, as we run through our highlights!
This December you can’t have failed to missthe blow-out between ‘Fit Mom’ Maria Kang, and a curvy lingerie shop owner who asked lots of curvy and larger women to send in photos of themselves. Needless to say at team Simply Be we’re not down with fat-shaming, and believe that there is beauty in every body. When will people learn that there is a difference between ‘promoting obesity’ / actively encouraging people to be a particular size, and promoting self-love and body confidence, empowering all women to feel beautiful? Le sigh.
This month we hit over 2000 followers on Instagram – are you with us?
Our AX Paris sequin bodycon ‘mermaid’ dress caused such a sensation in the blogosphere that it sold out in a flash (or should that be a splash?) Here are some of the gorgeous bloggers who rocked it – yes, it’s a magnificent mermaid montage!
