November 2013 roundup

As we enter into the super busy month of December we take a quick look back at our highlights from the past month.

Tara Lynn Elle Spain

Model Tara Lynn hit the headlines – firstly be looking hella stunning of the cover of Elle Spain, but perhaps even more so for saying:

“It is hard to make clothes look great on big women. The more fat there is on a body, the more variation there is in the shape of that body. And so it makes perfect sense that people are using a standard, clothes-hanger skinny body for it.”

Velvet D'Amour

Creator of Volup2 mag and plus model Velvet D’amour also gave a fascinating interview – here are are fave bits:

“If I accept myself, I give two hoots about it if someone else accepts me,”

“What bothers me is when media only allows one sort of beauty to be perceived as acceptable in order to promote capitalism. Where do drug addiction, alcoholism and bulimia come from?”

Cora of Vintage or Tacky made a series of four fab beauty tutorial videos for us – and a super-cute lookbook too!

Over on our Facebook page we had a really fun comeptition to find our character Bea and her friends around the Simply be website – did you find her? If not, never fear, there will be lots more competitions to come :)
