Quick! Balloons, streamers, CAKE! Today is Measure Your Feet Day people! Who’s with me?
Okay, so it’s no Cheese Day (yes, that one exists too), but if there’s one thing we should take from this slightly random but no less helpful day, it’s that we should all know how big are feet are. Both of them.
Last month, we brought you a blog post which showed you how to do just that (and how to measure your calves to boot). You can check it out here.
We’re not sure why the good folk in Iceland originally dreamt up Measure your Feet Day, but for us, it’s all about feeling comfortable and confident in your own shoes…and being able to fit into these beauties…
These boots are made for walkin’…
With summer still a distant dream, there’s life in the boot yet. These fab pairs will see you through the chillier months and well into spring.
The blazer; a piece so iconic, versatile and timeless, that no well-styled wardrobe is complete without one. Make this wardrobe hero your new BFF and put your blazers set to stun.
The Great British Weather. At this time of year, it’s safe to say that it’s going to get worse before it gets better. But, with the first day of spring and the prospect of brighter days just two months away, this leaves us in a rather tricky style spot. Do I buy more wintery clothes to keep me warm through freezing February? Or do I stock up for spring on all those lovely new season lines? The solution, lovely readers, is the trusty transitional wardrobe; pieces that can be worn now with woolly knits then peeled back as temperatures rise. Which leads us nicely onto arguably the most versatile of transitional pieces: the blazer.
One blazer. Three ways to wear.
From winter to spring, day to night, the blazer is a must-have basic to build your look around. While bold-toned blazers give this menswear-inspired piece an on-trend twist, black and white styles will never fall out of fashion favour. We’ve taken one of our favourite blazers from the Simply Be collection and created three unique looks to take you from season to season in style.
Cute cami’s are Spring/Summer ‘14s darling, especially those that keep the grunge flame burning. Layer a feminine dress with masculine separates for a spot of ‘90s-inspired androgynous chic.
Sexy, chic and slimming…long live the LBD! First heralded as the future of figure-flattering fashion way back in the 1920s, the Little Black Dress has become a must-have item for style-savvy ladies the world over.
What started as a sketch of a simple yet elegant, black, long sleeve dress by none other than Coco Chanel, has become a century-long obsession with the LBD. At the time, Vogue predicted that the style would become a uniform for fashion conscious females; a forecast which proved entirely accurate. But, with the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe advocating the look, it’s hardly surprising that the LBD became (and remains) such a firm wardrobe favourite.
One LBD. Three ways to wear.
In recognition of the versatility, longevity and altogether fabulousness of this sleek and subtle number, we bring you three very different outfits using one of our favourite LBDs from the Simply Be collection…
Crush on velvet with this lush LBD paired with rough-and-ready boots and accessories for instant off-duty cool.
